From the Musha Collection comes this intricately hand forged “Kyojin” (Titan/Giant) Katana. What makes this katana different from the rest is that it is design for the Westerners physique. Traditional katana is designed for the Asian physique, as more Westerners start to learn the art of the katana, some might find that traditional katana to be too short for them. The average height of an Asian male is 5’7” while the average Western male is 5’9” in height. To compensate the extra height for the western “Kyojin”, we design this katana to be just the right size for the average western male. With longer blades, wider tsuba, longer handles. It is the perfect katana for those that are over 5’ 9” tall.
The Kyojin katana is full tang 1045 high carbon steel which makes it a resilient katana that is razor sharp right out of the box. The detailed extra large tsuba depicts a traditional Japanese dragon wrapping around the katana with a matching Kashira and Fuchi.
An additional unique feature is the integrated Bo-Hi on the blade. Bo-Hi is commonly known as blood grooves, but that is a common misconception. The purpose of the Bo-Hi is to help reduce the weight of the katana, it actually has nothing to do with channeling the blood. Making the Katana lighter enables the user to wield the katana better and puts less stress on the hands. Not to mention it benefits some advance cutting techniques that requires the katana to change direction rapidly.
All Musha swords can fully disassembled and reassembled. Maru Gata style Tsuba, Fuchi, and Kashira all can be swapped out for a different set. Real wood handle is wrapped with traditional cotton.
