Using Maru-kitae hand forged technique with 1045 high carbon steel the result is a beautiful and resilient blade with a unique bamboo pattern. The Tonbo Katana is razor sharp and ready to cut. The detailed style depicts an Tonbo Dragongly on the tsuba , spreading it’s wings and flying towards the blossoming bamboo on the the sharp blade.. The copper kashira and fuchi shows the the Tonbo and the bamboo in greater detail to complete the theme. The wood handle is real ray skin wrapped in traditional black cotton cord alongside the two tone tsuba, this Tonbo katana is a great piece to your traditional katana collection. A unique feature is the integrated burgundy tonbo skin texture on the sya. It is then wrapped with a cotton cord to match the handle and finally touched with a glossy finish to make the sheeth look exquisite.
